West Knoxville Republican Club (WKRC) invites all area GOP Club members, friends and family to join us at our May meeting to hear Dr. Manish (“Manny”) K. Sethi speak on “Why Every Tennessean Should Care: Healthcare Reform and the Future of Our State.”

In order to accommodate Dr. Sethi’s schedule and what we hope will be a large turn-out for this event, WKRC will be holding our May meeting on Monday, May 6, at 7 pm at West High School (main auditorium). Doors open at 6:30 pm. We hope you will join with us to welcome Dr. Sethi and learn more about his free market ideas for Health Care Reform!

Dr. Sethi is a trauma surgeon at Vanderbilt University and was raised in Hillsboro, TN. His mother and father practiced medicine in Manchester, TN for over 20 years and he attended Webb High School in Bell Buckle.

He attended college at Brown University, and following one year as a Fulbright Scholar, went to Harvard Medical School. Manish also completed his Orthopedic surgical training while at Harvard University.

Dr. Sethi maintains a deep interest in healthcare reform and has been a consultant to the Agency for Healthcare and Research Quality. He worked for and has been mentored by Senator Bill Frist, who convinced him at a young age to become a surgeon.

He is married to Maya, a litgation attorney and they are expecting their first child at the end of May. They attend McKendree Methodist Church in Nashville.

Dr. Sethi is very active in the Nashville area GOP, and has been speaking across this state on the topic of Health Care Reform. He was interviewed for the 2012 Beacon Center of Tennessee Publication “A Cure for What Ails Us - State Led Healthcare Solutions to Fix Washington’s Botches” (you can view it online here: http://www.beacontn.org/wp-content/uploads/A-Cure-For-What-Ails-Us_web.pdf).
